I've officially crossed over to the dark side. Used to be whenever people would post pics of their beautiful lives or their adorable children I'd have to unfriend them on Facebook or stop following their blog. Nobody's life could be that perfect right.
Well as it turns out I was both wrong and right. Life is pretty incredible. Gabi is amazing and I for one can't get enough of her. She changes every day and I'm really trying to appreciate every moment because I can already see how fast this's going to go :-/ Every day she gets bigger, makes new faces, and is developing quite the little personality all her own. Some the best moments so far are spent lying next to her in the dimly lit room, just staring at each other. Her eyes are now big and open wide seeming to take every new thing in.
On the other hand…notice that you never see any breakdown pictures (of either baby or mom :-) Though life is good, it's definitely difficult. Although she's a pretty good sleeper, most nights I find myself pacing back and forth across bungalow attempting to get her back to that good hard sleep before trying to put her down again so that I can get another couple of hours of rest before the next wake.
We've slowly been getting into a little routine. We try to hit the road and walk to the beach at least once a day, either in the morning or the evening. Slowly getting in more exercise. It feels good to get out and move around. The bumpy roads rock the stroller around swinging baby back and forth which puts her to sleep every time.
Grandma Belle comes over every morning to make sure that the (non)sleeping baby hasn't driven us nuts… so helpful to be able to hand Gabi off into her grandmas arms and spend much needed time cleaning, showering, and taking a minute to just breathe.
Days are pretty slow down here. Try to get in a few hours of work each day if the child allows the time. Life is finally living up to the blog title. At this point life really is all about babies and beaches. Nice if you can get it... and feeling pretty blessed every day.
Just a really awesome tree on the walk to one of the beaches
Three weeks in and Gabi's almost grown out of her first item of clothing (which happens to be one of our favorites...Thanks Mia) These little shorts are way too cute!
Gabi assuming the frog pose as we hit the road to the beach...Finally!
...and sleeping under her mobile gifted from her aunt Kellie which, by the way, she started to see today! She woke from her nap and started watching the animals as they swung back and forth above her.

Sunset at La Luna, a very sweet little restaurant on Playa Pelada
Bonfire Sunset at Playa Giones
Our (and by our I mean Lily's) Christmas bush. Decided to decorate a lemon tree so we can plant it in the yard after the holidays. Christmas comes to the tropics :-)
