Our month and a half of girlie time finally came to an end and it was time to make the trek back to San Jose to take care of Gabi's paperwork and meet up with Dad. We were scheduled to fly into San Jose but a big wind storm blew into town and the plane that was to take us there couldn't land. We were forced to take a shuttle (5 hours boo hoo!) instead. On the one hand I was bummed about the long bumpy trip but on the other hand watching the tiny plane make a few passes trying to land in the heavy winds was more than a little frightening, especially seeing as it was to be my first flight with my little girl. I can't imagine how the passengers on the plane must have felt.
Nonetheless Gabs was great on the shuttle, waking only once to poop :-) First time changing a diaper in a taxi van. Luckily the couple next to us were parents as well so all was cool. Everyone kept complimenting me on what a good cute baby she was.
Finally made it into San Jose and Gabi got in some bonding time with daddy. I think looking back the best thing about San Jose was getting to dress Baby G up in some of her fun clothes. She's basically a diapers only beach baby most of the time so nice to ge to mix it up a bit. I love love love my little bear in her Pooh hoodie!
After four days in San Jose Gabs is officially an American Baby! She was born Costa Rican but had to do the paperwork t get registered as American. We got both her US and Costa Rican Passports in order and headed back to the beach on what would end up being one of the biggest days to date in Gabi world.
Kicked it off with baby's first plane ride. Was a little nervous to fly with her after out previous experience the other day but all went well with our flight. In a tiny little plane we cruised over the mountains out to the beach and then hugged the coastline all the way up to our little stretch of sand. Hands down the most beautiful flight I've ever taken. Gabi was great, not a peep out of her. Though the plane was small, the windows were quite big and she just stared out, taking in the view pretty much the whole trip. Then she fell asleep. Crossing my fingers it'll go the same on the longer flights next week!

Best view of all...a quiet sleeping baby :-)
...Later that day the long awaited dip in the pool! We were waiting for Jeff to come back before giving Gabs her first pool time experience. She didn't know what to make of it at first but after a while seemed pretty content. Dad has since dunked her whole head and she actually smiled after coming up! Wish I could say the same for Mom, think I was more nervous than Gabi! Looks like we're gonna have a water baby on our hands :-)

Mom's turn
Twelve weeks and all cheeks!
...And after that, since she did so good in the pool Gabs put on her cap and headed out to the beach for a sunset swim at "The Blue Lagoon." Though it's been hot hot hot here lately, the water has been a bit on the cool side so we took it a bit slower. While we've been waiting for Dad to get back we've been wading out in the waves which I think that helped out with the baby nerves and again, after some getting used to it, Gabs seemed to like the water.
And she's in!
...And finally time to sleep at the end of one VERY eventful day!

Just a couple a other pics from here and there...
I've been trying to get in shape the last couple of months and after checking out the options available settled into a routine of morning fit/boxing classes. Hands down the coolest gym anywhere with a full on boxing ring in the middle of the jungle!
